The goal is to improve agricultural management practices using Earth observation and AI to achieve more sustainable and affordable farming. The current approach for quantifying soil parameters is time-consuming and relies on manual labor, but the challenge aims to advance the state of the art by using cutting-edge hyperspectral imaging technology. This mission, designed by KP Labs, uses a hyperspectral instrument and on-board computing unit to process data using AI in orbit, making it the world’s first satellite with this capability.
